Welcome to the VISUAL ART page!!

2017-2018 was a banner year for Visual Art.  Byng students participated and were chosen for many prestigious Art Shows and awards.  Shows and competitions we participated in were: 

1. Scholastic Art and Writing Awards; Gold Key winner and Teacher reconciliation

2.  Young Talent in Oklahoma; Six artworks and four students chosen to show. One merit award winner and one honorable mention.

3.  Southeastern Art Show and Market (Youth division); One Best-in-Show 3-D, One first place Painting.

4.  Tobuchi (formerly Art Attack); First place, Diverse Art.  First place, Sculpture, Third place, Painting.  

Art 1-4 is now a Teaching for Artistic Behaviors (TAB) discipline class. Students will be required to research and explore many different art styles and artists.  Sketchbooks are to be graded in weekly or bi-weekly intervals depending on project.

High School Supply List

Required Supplies:

All High School level students should have a sketchbook.  No requirement of hardbound or softbound.  Should be standard size or larger.

Color Pencils (Prismacolor Scholar or comparable brand)

Graded Pencil set (General or comparable brand)

White eraser

Markers of choice

Rembrandt (or comparable brand) Soft Pastels (half sticks)

Acrylic mediums  gloss/matte 

Acrylic Paint set 

Flat and Round Brush Assortment for acrylics and watercolors

Canvas Boards or Stretched 

Pastel or Charcoal weight paper

 

 

7th grade Art Appreciation and 8th grade Art History

Spiral Bound Notebook

Sketchbook 

Drawing Pencils 

Erasers

Painter’s or Masking Tape

Any type of markers 

 

 

ALL CLASSES
